The library of the
Museo Storico Italiano della Guerra has over 27,000 items including
books and leaflets that deal with historical and military technology
(artillery, fortifications, equipment). The majority of these works
have been collected thanks to acquisitions and to private donations.
Part of the collection is the “Emeroteca” (ephemerals)
with contains more than 100 examples of newspapers and specialist
magazines, with a rich collection of newspapers from the trenches,
from Fiume and Dalmatia and of colonial magazines. The current magazines
cover the various disciplines of the Museum, from contemporary history
(with particular reference to military history) to working with
public records, or in a museum or with education. They also cover
military technology (arms and fortifications) and problems in the
defence sector.

Rules for researchers
In order to consult the library it is necessary to arrange an appointment
with the archivist.
Texts can be consulted within the museum.
Photocopies are allowed only if the original is in a reasonable
state of conservation.
